CADETS at BSC 2017
Cadets meet on most Thursday evenings plus some weekend sessions from April until mid-September, from 6 til 9pm.
Our registration evening this year is Thursday March 30th 6-8pm when we’ll give you all the information you need to join in. A parent guardian needs to come along to sign a consent /medical form etc and to pay membership to the club for 2017 (Cadet membership for is £84.00). A parent is expected to stay at the club for Cadets under 16 and be willing to help pull boats down the beach and help tidy away. They should also be prepared to enter the water upto waist level if needed!
We use a secure e-mail address for all communications firstname.lastname@example.org
As well as Thursday evenings and weekend sessions, we join in with the general club racing (weather permitting) and we also have a special series of races run over several weekends in the season. You can use club boats for all these events. The Cadets also enjoy “Cadet Camp” in May for 5 days at a private lake and campsite in Lydd, aimed at gaining confidence and focusing on the basic sailing skills and introducing racing at a very low level. We also race “away from home” during the season at various events/clubs in the South East.
All of our instructors and Safety boat drivers are RYA Qualified and our sessions at the club on Thursdays can lead to RYA Youth Sailing Scheme qualifications.
Cadet Captain, RYA Senior Instructor (Bexhill Sailing Club).
