Bexhill Sailing Club are holding their Annual Seaweek from Monday Aug 7th and the Club’s Cadets have decided to dedicate Tuesday 8th to raise funds for Young Epilepsy.
Young Epilepsy is an organisation based in Lingfield, Surrey which provides care, education and accommodation for young people suffering from severe epilepsy. They enjoy a varied and challenging life and sport forms a large part of their physical development. The Sports Department has identified dinghy sailing as an ideal sport for the students to enjoy the outside environment, build teamwork and develop confidence.
With a location, boats and instructors in place, what’s missing are specialist buoyancy aids/life jackets which automatically inflate and support the student in the water if they’re unable to help themselves because of their medical condition.
Bexhill’s young sailors are sailing to raise money to provide this equipment – would you like to donate to support their fellow sailors?
Please visit the club during the week or contact the Cadet Captain, Malcolm Brookes on Cadets@bexhillsailing.club
Staff from Young Epilepsy are visiting on Tuesday August 8th to support the event and answer any questions from visitors and supporters – Look out for their purple shirts!
