‘Early Wormers’ – after party

A good fleet ventured out on a quiet sea last Sunday morning for rounds 3 and 4 of the series. A very good response following the festivities that followed the Clubs collaboration with the De La Warr Pavilion’s event the previous evening (see next article).

All fleets were represented …Assymetric, RS 400 sailors Dusty Miller and Andy Bullen won both races against Aydn Harvey and Joe Turner.

…Of the Cats ‘Lane/Jarvis’ took both finishes against ‘Shoesmith/Schelt’.
…Of the slow fleet the experienced skills of Neil Smith won both races whilst the trailing pack struggled with the dropping wind.

…The Lasers with 5 boats on the water were as competitive as they could be in the wind conditions. Jan Palmer gave Robin Harris a challenge throughout the morning, and she took the second race, whilst Mike Copeman continues his run of good form this season with a first and second. Clive Piper using a radial suffered unsurprisingly in the results but showed he is getting to grips with his new boat.Bacon butties and mugs of tea warmed up the crew, ready for next weekends racing programme.
