Help improve the Sailing Club moving forward 37 people signed up and rising …..


The Flags, Treasurer and Richard Eagleton (as Trustee & STP) met on 16th October to identify the major issues facing the Club and to plan a “Blue Sky Thinking” event where the intention will be to encourage new ideas and find solutions to the many issues facing the club.

The plan is to split into small groups to facilitate discussion and participation. All of the Executive, Trustees and Committee members are invited together with ordinary members. With an aim of producing ideas and solutions to move the club forward positively and encouraging future proofing of the club

  • Sailing – inc racing/non-race/how many/when
  • Cadets – inc Cadet parents
  • Sailing School – inc Novices and how to keep/encourage/buddy sytem
  • Watch system/Duty rota’s/Dutyman system/members failing to do duties
  • Flag and Club officers responsibilities – spreading the load
  • Membership categories/fees
  • Clubhouse and fabric maintenance
  • Social functions
  • Bar
  • Galley
  • Relationship with other clubs/merger prospects
  • Wider community within Bexhill
  • Building extension – inc funding/grants
  • Sponsorship opportunities
